A new call for projects to obtain funding grant for SMEs, operating on the Romanian market, offers the opportunity to promote their activities in abroad. Financing make a part of the European Structural Funds, more precisely the Sectoral Operational Program - Growth of economic Competitiveness. The value of grants that companies can benefit may reach 70% of eligible project.

Pre-financing is not more than 35% of applicable program. The costs of the project to promote exports are reduced in this way up to 70%. The total amount of grant that an SME may receive can’t exceed 200,000 €.  The call for projects will be open in July-August 2010 and it will take a place bringing up-to-date. The implementation of the projects included in this notice are held in period maximum of two years from signing the financing contract.

Activities that make a part of nominated financing cover a wide range of the actions, that have as aim the growth of competitiveness of SMEs through their promotion in new markets. Economic operators which will receive funding grant, can use those contributions for participation on international exhibitions and exposures, but also on economic missions, organized in Romania or in abroad. Eligible are also various marketing activities with the purpose of promotion the economic operator and its activity (printed materials, promotional and online advertisement) in national and international markets as well as the identification of suppliers/customers (through different programs as “Hosted Buyers”).

The financed costs that are in accord with eligible activities can be divided into two categories: Costs for participation on the events ( with own stand at exhibitions ) and costs on promotional activities in new markets regardless of the type of business.
